So here’s the thing … I am now FINALLY in my last and FINAL trimester with Baby Bethea #2! That’s right, we are currently in the last stretch of this journey. Mind you it had been SUPER rough. I never knew Hyperemesis Gravidarum was even a thing until I had it with this pregnancy. From the moment we found out we were unexpectedly expecting surprise miracle #2, I have been struggling with the ins and outs of pregnancy blues. While yes, it should be a time to reflect, enjoy, and celebrate this wonderful blessing … I can’t blame those who suffer HG (like me) to wish it will be over sooner rather than later. So how do I cope? Keeping myself busy and active (as much as I can and as much as I am allowed).
There’s a lot of benefits when it comes to exercising while being pregnant. Except not everyone is able to stay as active. Ensuring fitness and well-being during pregnancy goes a long way in keeping both the mother and baby healthy. Maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle can make pregnancy more pleasant and feasible. Studies suggest that pregnant women gradually become less fit as the pregnancy progresses partly because of their weight gain or pregnancy woes. Keeping up with an exercise regimen can somehow help.
Benefits Of Exercise During Pregnancy
Better Sleep
Physical activity helps to provide a relaxed sleep that is important for both the mother and baby. Problems sleeping can be a result of stress and anxiety. Exercising regularly aids in reducing these uneasy feelings, ensuring proper sleep. Sleeping soundly increases endurance and helps to keep a person fresh and alert.
Relief from Constipation
This is an uncomfortable symptom of pregnancy. Physical activity helps prevent the digestive system from becoming sluggish. Low-impact exercises done on a regular basis can have a beneficial effect on the digestive system and can help off-set constipation.
Backache Relief
Lower backaches are a common side effect of pregnancy, which can be quite debilitating. Weak muscles in the torso can make this even worse. This is why it is crucial to keep the core muscles strong to alleviate any back pain that may result from added weight during pregnancy.
Positive Self-Image
Exercise promotes feelings of well-being and a positive self-image. This is true even outside of pregnancy. Maintaining an exercise program can build a woman’s self-esteem throughout her pregnancy and beyond.
Good Posture
Exercise can actually promote correct posture. This is due in part to strengthening muscles that are responsible for keeping the back and shoulders straight and upright. In addition, exercise can help to reduce fat deposits in specific areas that may become a hindrance during pregnancy.
Dealing with Labor
Keeping fit throughout pregnancy will give the mother the strength and endurance she will need for labor. Childbirth is extremely exerting, but it can be easier to deal with if the body is kept active. Studies suggest that pregnant women who are physically fit actually have slightly shorter labors, and are better able to deal with its intensity. Also, physical fitness can reduce the number of complications that are associated with labor and childbirth.
How do I manage to work out and stay active despite all the aches and pains? Distraction, motivation, and shifting my focus to the music that I am listening to. I love tuning out my worries and stress away. Sometimes I tune in to acoustics, but most often than not, I prefer some good ole’ R&B. For this specific task, I obviously need a truly-wireless headphones. This is the main feature of the JLab Headphones: #1 True Wireless Earbuds. While there are many products out there in the market, these following key features stood out for me the most:
- Great playtime and delivers crisp tones.
- Well designed and fits securely with its in-ear design

It gets me completely. It performs as amazing as I thought it would. Plus the fact that it is convenient AND affordable. That’s right … it retails for LESS than $100! You can’t beat that price for the quality that it delivers.
If you’re currently expecting, know someone who is, or someone who recently welcomed a newborn … best believe the JLab #1 True Wireless Earbuds would be heaven sent! Plus, the fact that ANY model from the JLab JBuds Air family retails for less than $100.
