Spring is out, but the cold weather seems like it is here to stay. If you live anywhere on the east coast, you would know that these past few days the weather is wrecking havoc all around. I mean, who would be excited about having a snow storm when the first day of spring is just a few days away? You bet my skin feels like it is going through a roller coaster ride. That is where Paula’s Choice skin care products come to my rescue.

Here’s the thing with weather changes – it is inevitable. Except, does bad looking skin have to be too? Not at all! However, switching things up is a definite must. I cannot stress enough that our skin has a different need throughout the year. Believe it or not, I got my best friend hooked with Paula’s Choice as well. That’s because their product truly speaks volumes.

Now that I’m expecting, my skin surely could use an extra boost of pampering. With that being said, I am also very cautious how I approached things and made sure to consult my doctor and dermatologist if the products I am using are safe for my little one. My doctor agrees that majority of the products we see on the market (over the counter products) are safe for use.

The following statement is quoted from Paula Begoun herself, the founder of Paula’s Choice skincare.

As a general rule, most skincare products such as cleansers, toners, moisturizers, eye creams, scrubs, and lip balms that do not contain over-the-counter ingredients regulated by the FDA are fine for use throughout your pregnancy. However, prescription and over-the-counter skincare ingredients are a different issue. – “Pregnancy & Skincare: Which Products Are Safe? …” Cosmetic Scoop. N.p., n.d. Web. Mar. 2017

Resist Smoothing Primer Serum

Paula's Choice Resist Smoothing Primer SerumPIN IT!

If you’re not using a primer before applying your makeup – you’re definitely missing out! It prepares your skin for the perfect makeup application by filling in pores and smoothing out fine lines. Same thing applies for wearing sunscreen with at least SPF 15 or SPF 30. I never paid sunscreen attention until I was in my mid-20’s. That was a major mistake. I wish I have done so much earlier.

With the Resist Smoothing Primer Serum, you get both the primer and sunscreen with SPF 30! Now that’s what I call an instant win!

The following 3 items are my absolute “HOLY GRAIL” of all times that I highly recommend to everyone. While the 3rd product is not recommended for pregnant women – it is still a must-have for your family, friends (for my best friend), and loved ones!

Resist 10% Niacinamide Booster

Paula's Choice Resist 10% Niacinamide BoosterPIN IT!

Niacin and niacinamide are considered to be SAFE for pregnant as well as breastfeeding women when taken in the recommended amounts. My doctor says he is comfortable to let me take between 20mg up to 30mg. Which means 2-3 droplets of the Resist 10% Niacinamide Booster is definitely okay for use.

Why use niacinamide? It’s for all skin type and works wonder as anti-aging and for treating enlarged pores. For a woman who turned 30 last year, I can use all the help I can get to achieve a younger looking appearance.

Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum

Paula's Choice Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol SerumPIN IT!

With Paula’s fantastic promo, I just had to make sure to grab my best friend’s favorite product. Ever since I have introduced the Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum to her, she highly swears by it too. In fact, her stock is running low, and this deal came at a perfect time.

At this point, I am not allowed to use any product that contains benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or any form of retinoids. According to my doctor, these products are not safe to use during pregnancy. I have to hold off for a while. I swear I miss using this product … and can’t wait to be able to use it again someday soon.
