After sharing about Sculpsure a few weeks ago I have received numerous questions through my inbox and social media network whether or not SculpSure and CoolSculpting is the same. I too have wondered the same question and with the help of Dr. Neumann of Nassau Plastic Surgical Associates he clarified that the two procedures couldn’t be any more different. I was definitely surprised and today … I am sharing what I have learned so far to enlighten some of your burning questions (no pun intended).
- ❝ Sculpsure is the only machine that is certified by the FDA to laser the fat away. Coolsculpt is a different system as it sucks the fat and skin into a little pocket, absorbs cold air to freeze and destroy the fat but we don’t believe it really works as there are no studies to show it does. Unlike Sculpsure which was tested with biopsies shows that 24% of the thickness of the fat is decreased. – Dr. Neumann (bio) ❞
In terms of non-surgical fat loss option, SculpSure and CoolSculpting are the most hyped procedures in the market. Both are recommended by medical professionals and doctors for non-invasive and proven to be safe fat removal technique. If you look it up online, everyone would obviously have a different take on both procedure. On this post I will try my best to share the difference on both procedure … do note however since I have never tried Coolsculpt before, I can only speak for my experience for Sculpsure and the rest are researched online from reputable sources.
CoolSculpting – this process will utilize a device that would freeze fat cells without affecting or damaging any other tissues. Once fat cells are totally frozen, they will crystallize and die and will eventually be removed by the body the natural way. CoolSculpting targets and only concentrate on one body area per treatment. It takes about an hour or so per treatment and needs 2-4 sessions per target area in order to see and feel the expected results. CoolSculpting has been the industry favorite for the past few years and been in use for nearly a decade with success testimonials.
SculpSure – if CoolSculpting utilizes cold temperature, SculpSure uses a laser system that heats and eliminates unwanted fats. The heat produced by the laser emulsifies and melt the fat cells. Once melted, the body will eliminate it the natural way. Aside from effectively removing the unwanted fats, the heat produced by the lasers also encourages collagen and elastin production in the treated areas. This promotes youthful tissue growth making the treated area not only thinner but healthier than before. SculpSure can treat 4 areas at the same time and each treatment only last for 25 minutes or so. With the SculpSure procedure, one session of 25 minutes can target multiple areas and to see and feel the expected results.
Yours Truly Having Sculpsure Treatment (March 14, 2016)
SculpSure is considered the newest and hottest technology in terms of non-invasive lipolysis treatment. Its effectiveness to eliminate unwanted body fats in a short time frame is totally impressive and commendable. Personally speaking, it sure felt like the bulge on my muffin top is much more jiggly like jello right after my 25-minute treatment. I don’t feel strained or tired in any way but my abdomen area feels like I’ve done some sit-ups or crunches — which in my opinion is amazing! It’s like Sculpsure did all the leg work and workout session for me while I fiddled with my snapchat and instagram for JUST 25 minutes. Hello summer bod!
According to Cynosure (the makers of Sculpsure) visible results are seen as quickly as 6 weeks and optimal result is usually seen in as few as 12 weeks. In order to share a thorough and accurate review I’ve decided that I will be documenting my progress every week and I will be sharing what I have gathered every 4 weeks. That way I have enough data, but not to a point where I will be overwhelming you all with so much information.
So make sure to come back and check out my Sculpsure treatment journey! Once again, if you have any questions feel free to ask through my comment box or contact form. Until next post! xo

April 7, 2016I didn’t even know there was a difference. This is interesting. I think I’d only ever heard of CoolScupt. Great comparison.
Lisa
April 14, 2016That’s because CoolSculpting is the leader in the industry. I think this person got paid by SculpSure, so just be mindful of the bias.
Angela Ricardo
May 10, 2016That is absolutely false Lisa. Everything I have shared on my post is based on my personal experience. There’s no bias as I am simply sharing things on my own perspective. I understand we are all entitled to an opinion but please do not make an assumption or or accuse me of being bias. Truth be told … every single ride I took, to travel from New Jersey to New York then to Long Island was paid for using my own money. No monetary compensation from the Sculpsure brand, Doctor or other reps in any way. This post is published on my own time, discretion and consideration.
Paula
April 7, 2016Definitely interesting – thank you for giving a thorough overview of both. I’d love to hear how it works for you, and what you think about it after the 6-12 weeks!

April 8, 2016I feel like after three babies perhaps this is something I should look into! Pretty cool to see the differences between these two options.
Mariah
April 8, 2016This seems scary to me…I am not one to have anything done to remove fat at all. Then again, I also have never really been “overweight”, so I cant see the other side of things. Hopefully this really is safe, although I fear many will not use it as it should be, getting rid of the fat and then living healthier, eating healthier and exercising, but rather just using this method over and over again to remove it..
CourtneyLynne
April 8, 2016Omg I remember seeing your pics on IG!!!! I really wanna look more into this kinda stuff! So neat!!!
Nicoke
April 9, 2016Interesting. I personally wouldn’t do it but I’m glad to see that there are options. Thank you explaining the difference
