Okay, so being a new mama made me realized that a day is barely enough to accomplish everything I set to do in a day. Obviously, I have to also make sure to keep my overactive and super energetic toddler occupied, entertained, and at the same time help nurture his growth. As a responsible parent, our son’s well-being comes as a priority. But this doesn’t change the fact that I still have other duties to do such as housekeeping, chores, and managing a full-time business from home (and when everyone else is asleep).
Eventually, I started running out of creative ways to prepare delicious meals without pressing for more time. That is until we finally had an Air Fryer. My gosh … I was literally living under a rock! Why didn’t any of my friends convinced me how much of a time-and-sanity-saver this thing is! Between 13-30 minutes and I can quickly whip things out like MAGIC! If you love to cook and explore recipe sites or search Pinterest or even social media for new ideas, chances are … you’ve heard about air fryers. It seems as though everyone is using air fryers to cook everything nowadays. From buffalo wings to a roast chicken, and even cakes, yogurt, and dessert! But why? Is there something special about an air fryer? Will it really make French fries taste just as good as deep fried? Which is why I’ve decided to try the Avalon Bay Manual Air Fryer kitchen appliance that everyone is raving about!
Let’s take a closer look at what exactly an air fryer is and whether or not you need one.
What Is an Air Fryer?
An air fryer is a small appliance that uses hot air to crisp foods. Only a tiny amount of oil is placed on the food, yet the texture results are similar to those of deep fried foods. Those that are health conscious rave about the results. And who wouldn’t? Being able to get crisp French fries that aren’t dripping with oil is a dream come true. But, wait. There’s more. You can hard boil eggs, roast pumpkin seeds in only 15 minutes, and even bake a few things. In other words, it is an amazing multitasker.
Straightforward Features
I have noticed how easy the settings are. It’s one of those type of appliances where you can set and forget. Just prep the food, toss it in, and move on to your next chore. Once the food is ready, you’ll hear a clear beep AND presto! No overcooking any food EVER.
Do You Really Need One?
The answer boils down to whether or not your family enjoys the types of foods that can be made in the air fryer. Does your family love French fries and the crisp texture of other fried foods? Do you want them to eat healthier? Then, yes, by all means, get an air fryer. If you and your family love to snack, you can cut a lot of calories by switching to an air fryer. And, personally, I think you can somehow get the same crispy texture in your oven -which is a big PLUS factor. I am still getting to know our Air Fryer so I don’t have a lot of tricks and insight to share. However, I have to add that it is absolutely convenient for family’s and most especially parents who are busy multitasking with chores and responsibilities in the house.
Is It Worth It?
Air fryers can greatly range in price. You’ll see prices from $60 to well over $100. It’s important to read the reviews to make sure you’re getting a model that does well and lasts. Of course, price isn’t everything. You have to ask yourself whether or not an air fryer is worth the space it will take up in your kitchen. If you have a small kitchen, before adding another small appliance can it is best to ask whether or not it will be something your family will use regularly. If you do have room to spare, I do recommend this nifty appliance as an addition to your cooking arsenal.
Avalon Bay AB-Airfryer100B
- Versatile 3.7 quart capacity is ideal for both snacks and meals
- Includes multi-use two piece baking set
- Hot air technology reduces fat by 70-80% for guilt-free eating

Overall, an air fryer can do more than fry and is a great option for those that enjoy fried foods but want to cut some of the fat from their favorite foods. You’ll get the same texture as deep fried foods, but without the guilt. The only downside I see is that these units can get pricey and do take up a bit of space. Other than that, it is amazing specially for families, AND new Mamas like me! It simplifies cooking and preparing a meal, making it worth the investment.
Since welcoming home this air fryer, I tell you … I whipped up fries, fish, and even onion rings in so many times in a matter of days than I could ever have in a year! No exaggeration at all. Just plain truth. That’s how much I truly love this nifty appliance.

April 2, 2019We have tried a few air fryers in the past and as a whole I did love using it to cook “unhealthy” foods like french fries without compromising on taste of a deep fat fryer. Ultimately we had to get rid of ours as we moved to smaller kitchen but I would love to have one again.

April 3, 2019I’ve always wanted one. While my family and I don’t normally eat fried foods, it takes the guilt away when we do treat ourselves. I think everything just looks so good that is made in one, I just don’t want to commit to another counter appliance. Space is limited as it is, but it’s still something I’m considering 🙂
