Personally, I’ve always been the “girl” who is more boyish than my friends. I have always been that little girl who enjoyed reading comic books, manga, watch animes, heroic movies, play with masculine toy figures like robots and cars, even play video games, as well as RPG (role-playing games) –until now! Don’t get me wrong, I have had my fair share of enjoying some feminine type of games, toys, and shows … but as an only child, I suppose I was just enjoying both types of entertainment choices.

One of the many things that I have closely followed is well-known heroic characters from Marvel as well as DC universe. I have fallen captivated with the whole superhero thing whether it’s for the realistic elements, godly like beings, super strength living the normal life … and so on. Majority of these characters are obviously male or men. To be honest, it never really dawned on me that there was a lack in the female superhero division when I was growing up. But upon taking a closer look, I pondered long and hard to remember how many female superheroes do I really know I only came up with 7!

3. Jean Grey
4. Rouge
5. Bat Girl
6. Super Girl
7. Elektra

All the rest were just later discoveries. This took me by surprise! So I have promised myself to familiarize myself with other super heroines from there on out. Which is why when Marvel Studios featured a mysterious pager with Captain Marvel‘s logo in the closing scene of the Avengers: Infinity War movie, I was totally hooked and anticipating for any updates. I was like riddled with so many questions like “Who is Captain Marvel?”, “What is going on”, “What role will Captain Marvel hold?”, “Would it be a male or female character?” … I was definitely in for a fantastic TREAT when I finally dug up the information online that SHE is a FEMALE!!! Finally a new heroine. A much-awaited one at that too. After all, the Avengers: Infinity War movie left me hating Thanos. YEP.

The narrative is set in the 1990’s era featuring Carol Susan Jane Danvers, an American pilot who got was bestowed with superpowers from the Space Stone (aka the Tesseract). She played an essential role in the final battle in the Avengers: Endgame movie. There’s also an important secret to be discovered in the Captain Marvel movie!!! May be new news to me and not to others, but I have finally learned how Nick Fury lost his eye. I will keep the actual information to myself JUST IN CASE you too are in the blind. See what I did there? LOL. All pun intended.
