As I was growing up, technology wasn’t as big as it is nowadays. In fact, I didn’t even have access to the internet until I was in my first year high school. If I remember correctly, I was 14 years old when I first had my own email address. Also, I didn’t have my own personal computer, so I rented one in café shops. We were finally obligated to buy one when I went to college as it became too tedious to keep up with research, assignments as well as projects. My mama didn’t have an issue with my internet usage at home as I was already at a certain age.
Except, looking back … I know for a fact that renting computers and having access online without adult supervision exposed me to a lot of risks. I could have easily connected with the wrong people and fall prey to the evil folks in IRC and Yahoo messenger (a very popular way to communicate with friends as well as classmates). Yes … the internet has its own perks, but can also have a lot of downside for those who aren’t aware of what it has to offer. I have a lot of friends who already have kids, and they have shared their first-hand experience of what it’s like to raise children in a generation full of technology. Mind you, it’s not all positive. Frankly, I think our kids are too connected with electronics, gadget, and the internet. I understand that a lot of families are either too busy or overwhelmed with life to realize that what may seem harmless at first, can actually prove to be dangerous if not harmful to our kids.
A lot of parents are guilty of handing over a device to their children and not realizing it poses a threat. Let’s get real here, 9 out 10 of my friends have kids who have their own phones or even tablet. Half of them have unsupervised access to their computers. About half have their own Facebook accounts when they’re not even 10 years old. Isn’t that a scary thought? No? It may seem fine to some of you. But a personal friend of mine ended up having a little one learn a particular language or way of speaking to her parents from watching videos available on facebook and youtube. Another friend’s son has downloaded an app for chatting because he claims he wanted to chat with his friends about Minecraft and ended up having a pedophile in the chatroom. Creepy, scary, and most of all it makes you feel unsafe. With a little one on the way, I can only imagine how protective I will be. I’m already protective of my godkids and even nephews and nieces. What more with my own? What more with my own? Thanks to the advancement of technology in our generation, we now have the perfect device for this problem – Circle with Disney! It’s the most efficient way for families to manage (as well as control) content and time across all devices.
Circle with Disney
The Circle is a device that is paired wirelessly to your internet router (Wi-Fi) and manages all devices in your home. It is straightforward to use, and set-up takes less than five minutes. It has an app that provides a complete overview of the family’s online activity. The device is not limited to manage smartphones, tablets or computers as it can also connect and manage gaming systems.
What Came in the Box
What’s really amazing about this device is the control it has to offer! Check out the following features that make Circle a must-have addition to your home.
» Time Limits — easily specify how much time each user can have to access specific apps and websites
» Filter Content — swiftly restrict access to specific sites and set an individual filter level categorized by age
» Bed Time Limitation — when bedtime is reached, access is automatically turned off
» Pause the Internet — with just a tap, you can pause access to the web
» Insight — see where your family (or kids) spends their time online and even monitor the total time spent daily, weekly and even monthly!
For those of you who have pre-teens or teens who are glued to their devices – this device comes in very handy to solve this problem too! You can no encourage (if not enforce) a new routine that makes them spend less time on their gadget and do more real-time entertainment, outdoor/physical activities, or even spend some family time without any technological interruption.
Wondering if this device will slow down your Wi-Fi? Not at all! As far expenses, you only have to pay a one-time fee of $99 for the device. No additional payment needed. No subscription or software to install. It does, however, require that you have internet access (Wi-Fi) and to download the app on your phone for managing the settings and control.
If you ever feel the need to monitor your children’s or family’s activity whenever they’re not home, you can check out Circle Go – monthly subscription of $9.95 for a maximum of 10 devices. Circle Go offers the same settings for the devices you have and extends the features through 4G/LTE or when connecting to another Wi-Fi network.

June 13, 2017Circle Disney sounds like a very helpful resource for parents. Kids are using tech and the internet a lot earlier these days and it can be a challenge to make sure they aren’t being exposed to people or videos that are dangerous or beyond their comprehension.

June 13, 2017Wow this is awesome. I will for sure have to do this with my family i have 7 kids and 4 of them have access to the internet quite often!

June 14, 2017It’s so scary what kids can be exposed to, and in danger of, on the internet nowadays. Parents have so much more to worry about! I’m so glad Disney came out with this. It’s definitely a product worth looking into. Thanks!

June 17, 2017With technology so easy to access I think it’s so important to limit what kids have access to. I know when I was a teenager I’d go into chat rooms and probably exposed more about myself than I should have to strangers x

June 17, 2017I would love to use this to monitor what my two darlings are doing now that they are on school break. Thanks for the recommendation.

June 19, 2017Circle with Disney is an amazing product. It will be so helpful this summer with the kids. I will have to share this with all my friends with kids. It can be hard to constantly monitor the internet.

June 19, 2017I saw one of these recently and thought what a great idea. I’m not a parent myself but I can see the great value in being able to shield your kids from the nasties of the internet.

June 20, 2017The internet can be beneficial in so many ways, but sadly, it comes with its fair share of pitfalls. That’s why I’m glad products like this exist!

June 20, 2017I’m glad there is something like this to help keep all that harmful stuff away. I have an 8 and 5 year old so they aren’t on the internet yet, but with each passing year, younger and younger kids are getting cellphones and getting social media accounts. I’m goin to control that aspect of computer use with my kids as long as possible.
Brittany
June 20, 2017My kids are just getting to the point where they use the internet for different things. It’s only going to get more next year when we homeschool. I need all the tips I can get.

Glenda
June 21, 2017Wow the Circle sounds awesome! I need to check out this device to keep an eye on my teenage son.
Erica
June 21, 2017This seems like a must have for anyone with kids. And I think it’s good to start using it when they’re young so they don’t feel like they are all of a sudden being spied on as pre-teens or teens. It is a scary world out there in the internet.
Mimi Green
June 21, 2017Circle with Disney sounds like just what I need to manage my kid’s internet use. Other things I’ve used weren’t this detailed and I like that. I like that I can auto shut it down at a certain time.
Heather
June 21, 2017This looks like such an incredible product! My eight year old daughter is such a good kid and follows house rules so well. But even the best kids bend rules. As she gets older screen time is tough to regulate. This will definitely make us feel better in our home.
Gabriel Bregg
June 21, 2017This could be a really useful set of “eyes” to help monitor our kids. With 5 of them, we need all the help we can get.
Nikki
June 21, 2017How cool that it can also monitor gaming systems! My son is 12 and an avid gamer. He plays on his computer, my iPad and the XBOX. He is pretty good about behaving online, but I still would like to be able to monitor his activities. I trust him, but I don’t really trust the rest of the internet, know what I mean? Like you said, there are some super scary people out there!
reesa
June 21, 2017I’ve never heard of this before!! I really need to give it a try! My kids give me such a hard time about getting off of the internet!

June 22, 2017This sounds like a really great tool to help parents. My daughter goes on these kicks where all she wants to do is be on the internet and all I want her to do is play.
