Diaper rash is stressful for the baby as well as the parent(s). Mild cases alone can also take up to three days for it to heal. That’s why I firmly believe in prevention. You should do whatever you can to prevent diaper rash from occurring in the first place. Let’s take a closer look at what diaper rash is exactly along with ways to prevent it and how to treat it should a case spring up.
Happy Baby = Happy Mommy!
What Is Diaper Rash Exactly?
Diaper rash is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a rash that occurs on the buttocks and is usually caused by wet diapers. Diarrhea and antibiotics may also be to blame. When the skin stays wet for too long it will become inflamed. The rash is truly unpleasant for the baby. Truth be told, even adults can suffer from this same type of rash if they live in a hot, humid climate that causes excess sweat on the buttocks and genital area. In severe cases, diaper rash can lead to a fever and will need to be treated by a doctor.
What Can You Do to Prevent It?
The best thing you can do is to change your baby more often. You want to do everything you can to keep your baby’s bottom dry. You may also want to choose diapers that helps wick away more moisture.
When it comes to changing diapers, rinse your baby’s bottom with warm water, pat dry, and allow to air dry. Remember that time spent without a diaper is healthy as it allows the skin to breathe. Protecting your baby’s skin is the number one priority. Personally, I love using Triple Paste on every diaper change. Yes, every-single-time. Because it acts as a barrier/shield and works as a preventative measure as well as a treatment for diaper rash.
Another thing to note is to never let the diaper to be too tight as this may cause sweat to build up and lead to diaper rash.
How Do You Treat It?
What do you do if despite your best efforts, your baby still gets diaper rash? The best thing to do is change diapers more often and use an ointment to help clear up the rash. In most cases, you can treat at home and it will clear up in 2 to 3 days. If the rash starts to spread or a fever occurs, a doctor will be needed.
Triple Paste Diaper Rash Cream
Triple Paste Diaper Rash Cream is a brand I can firmly recommend. A quick look online will reveal that through their Amazon website, their product have a 5-star rating and over 4800 reviews! One of the key highlights to remember is that Triple Paste is free from unnecessary ingredients with just the right amount of medicine to treat a diaper rash.
It also boast of a fragrance free formula and contains non-nano zinc oxide and is preservative-free, talc-free, phthalate-free, dye-free, and also hypoallergenic. Making this a must add to your diaper changing station and is the best way to keep your baby’s skin healthy. To top it all, their unique formula also contains oat extract and beeswax. These ingredients are key to delivering remarkably fast and soothing relief for red, sore, irritated skin.
Triple Paste Diaper Rash Cream
Before discovering Triple Paste Diaper Rash Cream, I have tried different products. I have even used petroleum jelly. It just never worked for the sensitive bums of my little ones. What I truly love is the fact that this soothing cream is thick, works quickly, and overall an all-in-one triple protection – prevents, treats, as well as soothes! Also, it doesn’t leave a goopy mess and wipes off your fingers using a baby wipe after application.
Babies LOVE Triple Paste!
On top of being pediatrician recommended and dermatologist tested, another takeaway is that Triple Paste is endorsed by the National Eczema Association. Definitely worth keeping on hand.
Remember, prevention is always key, but there are times when despite your best efforts, a case of diaper rash still slips through. Thankfully, there are good products on the market that allow you to treat the problem at home.

February 24, 2021I agree, one of the best ways to prevent diaper rash is making sure littles have diaper free time! Another great tip is using cloth diapers, we found that very effective, maybe it was the cloth itself but I think perhaps it is because you end up changing babies more often when in cloth. In the end though sometimes rashes just happen and creams like that are awesome. (just don’t use them without a liner in cloth diapers!)
