Oh baby … here we are now a year later. I can’t believe all those months have already passed and my sweet little munchkin is now considered a toddler. My heart aches. I am sad and at the same time excited. It is definitely bittersweet. I honestly wish I could freeze time and enjoy him a bit more being a baby. Specially I feel guilty for not being able to give him much of my undivided time given that I have to balance everything between him, his older brother, being a mom, a wife, and the day to day life and responsibilities. At the same time however, I find myself looking forward to everything because I want to see the amazing things he will be doing in his life.
Ahhh, the joys of parenting. You really can’t have everything right? Also, since we are still continuously battling this pandemic and our family is striving hard to stay safe, we opted for a quarantine celebration. Completely safe, socially distanced, just us, and 100% utterly boring. There, I said it. A celebration that did NOT meet any of my expectation or standards. I felt absolutely guilty for our youngest. This is knowing I was able to do everything I can for his older brother. I gave it my best, grand party and all. Then this time around, what was I able to do? If I’m being honest, I swear I feel like a failure. That right there is my anxiety talking and my confession on that matter. I am however acknowledging what everyone around me have said … that my little one is happy and healthy, and that is all that matters. For now, I’ll take that, and somehow I will make it up to him … One way or Another.
Without further ado … I present to y’all, our little quarantine celebrant!
As you may see from the photos, it is our version of a cake smash in a cupcake form. A “Do It Yourself Cupcake Smash” photoshoot. I know, I know, you’d all say it still came out quite cute. I just know I could do so much more if we were able to travel and go outdoors, etc. Anyway, the celebrant at least enjoyed his very first taste of cupcake! Let the smashing and what not commence …
What about you guys? How did you all celebrate any events or milestones throughout the year of 2020 until now?
