Ever since Josiah King’s arrival, we have learned so much about babies in such a short time. There are things that we weren’t even aware of … like swaddling, teething products, object attachment, leap stage, growth spurt, and even colic! Wait, what? For my soon-to-be-parent readers, if I lost you there for a moment, don’t worry too much. You’re not alone. In fact, my hubby and I were in your place just a few months back. For my non-parent readers, feel free to continue reading as this post might provide some excellent knowledge for a family or friend of yours.
Every mom and dad wants the best for their babies, that’s for sure. From the products that we use to the brands that we trust – we gotta admit, we choose it carefully and wisely. One of the most important things that we do is to feed them. But let’s be honest, the majority of the breastfeeding moms don’t have to figure out what brand or what type of formula to choose for their little one –and for apparent reason. Unless of course they are mixed feeding or have a need to supplement. But for those who are actually using formula in one way or another, it can prove to be complicated and confusing. How so? Because there is no such thing as a one size fits all type of formula.
There are plenty of things to consider when choosing a formula. Believe it or not, some babies have an allergy to cow’s milk proteins! Some parents are lucky enough to find a solution from omitting dairy from their diet and can continue breastfeeding without causing any discomfort to their little ones. Except, there are a few that need to be completely switched to infant formula. This is where it all comes down to parents needing to be aware of changes in their baby’s behavior. Doing so could help address the issue right away. Get your baby checked out by a pediatrician to rule anything out, especially if there are signs of infant allergy.
What most parents aren’t aware of is the fact that colic may be an indication of cow’s milk allergy. I have seen some parents just shrug it off and say, “oh my baby is just fussy”, or state that “it’s most likely colic, it will pass”. The truth here is colic is a possible indication of cow’s milk allergy. Colic may occur as a delayed reaction within a few hours or days of consuming cow’s milk protein. It can be from other things too, but it should be addressed by the baby’s doctor right away! When Josiah had his crying spells, I had his pediatrician check it out ASAP! I wanted to make sure that it was nothing serious, and possibly rule out any allergies. This is how I discovered Nutramigen® with Enflora™ LGG®, and that the Nutramigen® protein has been researched in over 70 clinical studies.
With the help of Nutramigen®, you can manage cow’s milk allergy and can lessen the time needed for your baby to outgrow a cow’s milk allergy. Usually, babies outgrow a cow’s milk allergy by 3-5 years of age but with Nutramigen®, 60% of babies consuming it can digest cow’s milk protein after 6 months of feeding without an allergic reaction‡. Isn’t that amazing???
Nutramigen® with Enflora™ LGG®
Maybe you are wondering what infant formula you should give if your baby is allergic to cow’s milk. Well, if that’s the case, it’s important to talk to your baby’s doctor. Nutramigen® is from the maker of Enfamil – one of the most trusted brands when it comes to providing quality infant formula. Nutramigen® is excellent for our little ones that have cow’s milk allergy and is the most recommended formula by a pediatrician for babies with cow’s milk allergy. It’s easy-to-digest, reduces gas, crying as well as disturbed sleep resulting in a happier, better-rested baby and parents too! In fact, our own pediatrician, recommends it also and highly swears by it!
We can’t afford to see our little ones struggling that’s why we make sure we give them the best. Worry less and say hello to brighter days.
Nutramigen® with Enflora™ LGG® is the only nutritionally complete, hypoallergenic formula with LGG probiotic for babies with cow’s milk allergy. For more information visit www.nutramigen.com or call 1-800-BABY123.
