Home decorating may seem like it takes a lot of creativity, time, and money. The truth is anyone can make their home look inviting. Whether it starts with the color scheme or how you place items around your home, there are so many home décor hacks that you’re going to love.
Use the 60/30/10 Color Scheme
If you want your home to look put together, use the 60/30/10 color scheme. The way this works is that your walls take up 60% of your color scheme. Thirty-percent of your color scheme is devoted to the secondary color (paint trim, throw pillows, linens, etc.) and the last 10% is your accent color (accessories).
Tie Back Curtains with Necklaces
If you want a chic, unique look, use necklaces to tie back curtains. You can find costume jewelry at thrift stores very inexpensively or you can find necklaces on clearance at Walmart or Target. This is a fun and cute home décor hack.
Place Items in Groups of Three
Items always look better when grouped together in groups of three. It doesn’t matter if it’s candles or pictures or figurines. The items don’t have to be the same. In fact, items look best when they vary in height.
Flameless Candles with Timers
Lit candles placed around your home can be beautiful during the evening time. However, it’s a pain to go around and light and put out the candles. Instead, invest in battery powered “Flameless Led Wax Pillar Candles” … and some of them even comes with a remote. You just have to set the timers and forget about it until the batteries need replaced. Your candles will come on and go out at the same time each evening.
Make Switching Out Seasonal Plants Super Easy
Not into gardening? Make switching out seasonal flowers and plants foolproof by planting the flowers in their pots. This way you can easily remove them from your flower bed and replace them with another seasonal plant.
Make Your Garden Functional All-Year Round
If you feel like you’re not getting enough use out of your garden, one way to change that is to use an outdoor lighting service to install lights in your garden’s social area. That way, you can make evenings out in the garden a regular feature in your household.
Do you love to craft? You can create crafts to hang around your home to personalized it with your own touch. Best of all, when you’re tired of it, it can easily be removed.
Home decorating doesn’t have to be hard or expensive. You can use these home décor hacks to give your home a new look. Whether you place a set of battery powered candles on your end table or use necklaces to tie back curtains, you will love these hacks.

November 4, 2019I like the 60:30:10 rule. And haven’t noticed threes. Maybe it’s odd numbers as I like things on their own … except candles and there can never be enough candles!!!

November 5, 2019It’s a classic decor rule that helps create a color palette for a space. It states that 60% of the room should be a dominant color, 30% should be the secondary color or texture and the last 10% should be an accent. My friend who is an interior decorator is all about this!
