If you’re the sort of person who loves exploration and adventures, then you’ll know that you need a whole bunch of accessories to make the experience pleasant. In this post, we run through some of the items you absolutely can’t afford to leave home without.
Portable Water Filter
When you’re out in the middle of nowhere, there isn’t always a safe source of mains water around. Not to worry – with portable water filters, you don’t have to worry about finding a faucet. Instead, you can collect water from any nearby stream.
The way these bottles work is pretty simple. Most have two sections. One section holds the pre-filtered water, and another collects the filtered water beneath. All the filtration works using the force of gravity, so you don’t have to worry about batteries or anything. You just fill the chamber and then thirty minutes later, all the water has filtered through and is ready to drink.
All-In-One Coffee Maker
Just because you’re out adventuring, doesn’t mean you should be denied life’s luxuries. That’s why portable coffee makers are such must-have items for today’s adventure travellers. These kits fit together into small tumblers, making it easy to grind fresh coffee beans and create delicious drinks without having to drag a giant coffee machine around with you in your bag.
Travel Wash Bag
Most adventurers wait until they get home to wash their clothes. But it turns out that you don’t have to do that anymore. Some brands, like Scrubba, have developed products that will let you do your laundry on the fly.
The way these work is genius. Essentially, they are large bags with washboard-style grates on the interior surfaces. You simply put your clothes inside, use your hands to apply the detergent, and then, once you’re finished washing, rinse the clothes and hang them out on a rack. It’s the perfect solution for muddy socks and pants.
Waterproof Watch
If you’re heading out onto open water, you’ll need waterproof WatchBox watches. This type of watch gives you peace of mind that even if you go near a body of water, it isn’t going to harm your timepiece. This way, you can adventure in a way that suits you, not your accessories.
Multitool
The Swiss Army Knife is still the gold standard, but there are now many other options out there. For example, many hardware stores now sell multitools with up to 21 individual tools in a single accessory. You can use these for everything, from clipping your toenails to collecting firewood.
Wireless Headphones
If you’re making your way through dense brush or travelling around busy unknown cities, the last thing you want is headphone cords dragging you down. For today’s adventurers, wireless is the way to go.
Compact Medical First Aid Kit
Lastly, adventuring comes with its fair share of risks. Many experienced explorers, therefore, take a medical kit with them to keep them warm. Make sure that yours includes antiseptic, plasters, bandages, and safety pins for making a sling.
