Your personal well being should be your number one focus in the new year. Why? Because we’ve had a messy and stressful past couple years! It’s time now to focus on you; the way you’re feeling, the things you want to do, and how best to practice some self care. As such, it might be a good idea to make a resolution surrounding this at the end of the month. Paying a bit more attention to yourself? That won’t be a hard one to keep to! But if you need some ideas about the kinds of resolutions that’ll work here, check out the list below.
Eat Better, Even When You’re Busy
Eating better is always going to be the number one thing to do when it comes to your wellbeing. The food we consume plays such an important role in the way we think and feel, and if you’ve noticed yourself being in a bad mood lately, it could be down to your diet.
So make a resolution that’ll really help you: promise that you’ll eat better, even when you’re super busy and can’t cook up a full meal. Maybe you could cut out a few takeaways, or give up snacks? Or maybe you should try meal prepping in the new year?
Pay More Attention to Your Body
Paying attention to your body is all about picking up on signals. Make a promise now to listen to these. Do you feel more tired than usual? Maybe you’re aching in strange places? Well, these could be signs you may need to take supplements that’ll make you feel much stronger and more energized. It’s time to do some research!
A quick trip to a pharmacy will do the trick here. Whether you need to get the after day pill or you need iron or multivitamin supplements, listen to your body and what it’s telling you. You’ll be able to see and/or feel symptoms of certain deficiencies, and you can always ask the professional behind the counter what you can take to help. Be brave and commit to doing this.
Set a Regular Bedtime
A regular bedtime is something we think only kids need, but adults benefit from them too! So why not make a resolution to slip into bed at an earlier, more consistent time? If you’re always staying up until about 3 am, why not aim for 2 am at the latest?
And once you’ve got that down, 1 am, and so on and so forth. Do this until you get it down to about 10 or 11 pm – these are the best bedtimes for ensuring you get about 8 hours sleep, even if you have to get up before 6!
If you want to be more healthy to ring in the new year ahead, a resolution like those above will do all the work for you. Get to bed earlier, eat better, and make sure you’re listening to your arms and legs, stomach and head.
