Things To Consider When Buying New Sheets and Why We Love GhostBed Luxury Sheets

After a long tiring day, nothing beats a restful, good night sleep. This is especially the case when you’ve been running around taking care of an active, babbling, toddler. Plus, a good rest helps prepare our body for another day, and let’s not forget some type of peace of mind too. But, to be able to achieve a good night sleep, there’s one factor that most people tend to neglect, and that is choosing bed sheets wisely.

I don’t know about you, but whenever I am at a hotel, I always feel so relaxed because of the cozy and soft sheets which really helps me feel more rested. As a new mama, I don’t get a lot of quality rest which makes it even more crucial to feel as relaxed and rested as possible. So today, I am sharing a few pointers to knock your sleep out of the park …

5 Things You Should Consider When Buying New Sheets

1. Choose cotton
Who wouldn’t love cotton sheets, right? It’s one of the comfiest sheets that you can get. Long-fiber kinds of cotton like Supima, Pima, and Egyptian are the softest and strongest fibers. Also, fabrics that are made of longer fibers don’t pill. As a result, they are softer and comfy. These kinds of cotton are classified as luxury or high-end cotton which means they tend to be on the expensive side. If you want a budget-friendly option, go for polycotton. Linen is also nice especially during summer because it is lighter and smooth.

Personally though, we love GhostBed Luxury Sheets set. It is made from premium Supima Cotton along with revolutionary Tencel Fiber. It is also 50% more absorbent than regular cotton, and delivers a silky smooth feel. The set is the best bundle and it comes with 2 Queen Pillow Cases, 2 FREE King Pillow Cases, 1 Top Sheet, 1 Fitted Sheet. This sheet set will honestly work great on almost any mattress, but it would be an ideal pair to a matching GhostBed mattress.

2. Thread count is a myth
We used to consider the thread count in every square inch of the fabric, but not anymore. We used to believe that a higher thread count means it has better quality than other sheets with lower thread count. Little did you know that it’s not the count, but it’s all about the yarn size, spinning, fiber, and finishing.

3. Know the weave
I know, the weave is not visible by our naked eyes so it would be harder to identify how it is weaved. Bed sheets are woven differently, and it affects the sheet when it comes to its softness and appearance.

4. Know where it is manufactured
You should also consider knowing where the sheet is manufactured, as there are places who specialized in manufacturing them. Italy and France are the best examples of having the best sheets in the world so you might want to look for a brand that manufactures from the said countries. But also remember that sheets manufactured from Italy and France might be a little pricey than regular sheets.

5. Look for the finish
To ensure that the sheets won’t wrinkle easily or it won’t lose its shape, some manufacturers prefer using chemicals on the sheet. But there are also manufacturers who produce organic sheets and is often called “pure finish”. These sheets are chemical-free, although these kinds of sheets get wrinkled easily.

Also, DON’T forget to WASH your sheets before using! Trust me on this, don’t skimp on this very crucial task. Make sure to wash it carefully before using especially if you have sensitive skin. New sheets can possibly have remains of chemicals in it so you might feel discomfort or worse, have some type of reaction. Plus the fact that a newly washed sheet is even more comfortable especially when washed with your favorite laundry softener. My personal preference is linen fresh.
