How to Make the Most of Your Garden Space

Whatever the size of your garden, you will always want to make the most of it. The garden is like another room to the home and can provide visitors with that wow factor. It can be a place to relax or to experiment with some styles and highlight your personality. It can be used to add something that may be lacking in the interior or to complement and enhance it. What you do with your outside space is up to you, but to help get you thinking, here are some tips:
Create Divisions
Creating division in your garden can allow you to develop different themes for different areas. By sectioning areas off, you could have an area for friends and a small covered area for relaxing meditation. You could even have a play area. If you have a pool, you can use pool fencing or screen to block this off and have a secret garden beyond. Other ways you can create divisions is with raised borders. These types of borders can be stepped as well as high as a fence, free-standing trellises covered with creeping plants, pagodas, etc. By creating division, you can section off areas for different uses. You can even hide unsightly man-caves, aka a shed.
Add Garden Ornaments
Garden ornaments can be used to make a statement, or they can be subtly placed to add a little awe and wonder. Think about a theme you may be going for and see what you can get that match this theme. There is so much choice. For large gardens, a wooden bridge over a pond may be a great accessory. For smaller gardens, some mirrored balls or smaller statues and sculptures are a great fit. A few mirrors dotted about can behave like little tricks. They offer small spaces the illusion of space and even in large gardens, they can make it appear as if the garden extends beyond the back border.
Hanging Baskets
This can be particularly effective in smaller enclosed gardens, where you want to use the wall as a feature to enable the look and feel of your garden. There are plenty more options available than the usual hanging baskets. There are things such as wooden planters and vertical pallets which can cover a lot of the wall space, and you can even use them to grow some vegetables if that takes your fancy.
Wall Trellis
A wall trellis attaches to the wall and allows you to grow creeping plants along it to create that vertical garden look too. They can reality help you create that secret garden, relaxing outdoor space, which may act as a sort of oasis if this is somewhere in the city.

Lighting
If you want to make the garden a nice place to sit all year round, why not think about installing some lighting. You can use it on walls as downlighting or to enhance certain plants. You can use it above a patio area, so even in the winter you have lit seated areas for everyone to enjoy.
