Refreshing Ice Cream Float with Halo Top

With summer fast approaching (along with some pregnancy cravings) I can’t help but wish and want some ice cream floats! Except … when you’re expecting you can’t just dive into any whim. So I have been considering ways to re-create my favorite refreshment without overdoing the calories and sugar. As most of you know by now, I shop regularly at our local Walmart store. That’s where I stumbled across Halo Top Ice Cream! You wouldn’t believe that it is low-calorie, low-sugar, high in protein and uses “only” the best ALL-NATURAL ingredients!

I honestly wondered how it would taste like and decided to give one flavor a try — their red velvet. I was blown away!!! There’s no other word to describe it, it’s super creamy I swear I felt I was indulging in a regular ice cream. I could literally eat the entire pint and not feel guilty in any way. Finally, a healthy ice cream that actually tastes just like ice cream! After a further look into Halo Top, I discovered that they have a total of 17 flavors – they have fun flavors like birthday cake, peanut butter, red velvet, chocolate chip cookie dough, etc. as well as all-time favorite classics like vanilla, chocolate, mint, and more! From there, I’ve decided to give my favorite refreshment a spin.

Halo Top Ice Cream

Halo Top Ice Cream

Let’s be honest, there’s nothing better than a delicious “guilt-free” ice cream float on a smoldering hot summer day. Except, floats have been limited to the usual choice of root beer and vanilla ice cream. Not this time — I’ve replaced the classic choice in this FUN float recipe (+ more) to bring you my NEW favorite ice cream and soda combo.

This super-easy to follow recipe and instruction will surely satisfy any sweet tooth in no time! Time to re-invent the classic and give this irresistible treat a whirl — I promise you, the whole family will love it too! If you have kids around this is a big plus because you can do this refreshment with them.

Halo Top chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream

2 Ingredient Recipe:
1. Place 2 – 3 scoops of Halo Top chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream on your favorite cup or glass.
2. Add 1/2 a cup of chilled soda (coke or rootbeer) on top of your ice cream and enjoy! Bottle of soda in your first or last name is optional. 😉

This summertime try on new flavors with Halo Top ice cream. Not only are they quick and easy to make, but you can also easily enjoy variations like lemon cake + coke, strawberry + coke, sea salt caramel + root beer and so much more!!! If you have recipes to share, I would love to know about them too.

On your next grocery run, make sure to stop by your local Walmart or order online at Walmart.com – these delicious flavors are available nationwide.

Halo top has become one of my favorite ice creams recently. Mostly because I can have a whole tub for only 250 calories (varies with flavors).

I love, love, love root beer floats in the summer! I keep hearing about Halo Top so I might need to check it out. I haven’t had a coke float in forever. I bet Orange Crush and vanilla ice cream would taste pretty amazing, too.

This does look refreshing and it would be nice to make this with the kids especially during the summer! I always liked floats, especially when you try a different ice cream flavor other than the classic vanilla.

Ice cream is my weakness – I hate to admit I can put a pint down without blinking an eye. I’ve heard great thinks about Halo but I’ve never tried it – I think I should so I can get bikini ready this summer.

It always turns out that the simple things are just as good or better than a big complex dessert. You have made me want a float now and I have to try Halo Top because it looks so good.

The Halo Top Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is my favorite from the brand. I don’t know how they did it, but the entire carton tastes like you are eating raw cookie dough. It is so amazing. Going to have to give this float a try next time I pick up a pint.
