Cozy Up on the Colder Days – Cold and Flu Season Survival Guide

Holidays are just around the corner, and I am already way beyond excited for the merrymaking, reunions, and gift-giving shenanigans that come with the season. But I will be honest, no matter how much I love the holidays, there’s one thing that I hate about it—the hassles and health problems that come with the freezing weather!

This year, I promised myself that I wouldn’t let myself be bogged down by all these hassles, especially since I will already be with my bundle of joy once winter rolls around. Instead, I decided to find relief from the cold temperature and just enjoy the cold weather cozying up at home with my little one and the husband.

And guess what, I have found the perfect items that can help me achieve this seemingly impossible feat! Check out these 6 goodies I have rounded up that can also help survive the cold/flu season.

Zippo Mini Flex Candle Lighter

Zippo Mini Flex Candle Lighter

The first thing on the list is the Zippo Mini Flex Candle Lighter (works as a BBQ Lighter too) which has a flexible neck, so it makes lighting the hard-to-reach flames as easy as possible. You can also quickly refill this lighter with Zippo Premium Butane Fuel.

The feature that I love most is its one-hand ignition switch. I would highly recommend this to all my mom friends because they can simply use one hand to light flames while they are carrying their babies on the other. It is great for multi-tasking, and most of all the double activation switch gives its user (especially if you have kids around) an additional sense of security that it doesn’t just light up with one quick push of a button.

Chesapeake Bay Candle

Chesapeake Bay Candles

When it comes to relaxation, I love a good DIY-spa-at-home ambiance. I often light up a candle while diffusing some essential oil for that feel-good aromatherapy treatment. What perfect way to use the Zippo Mini Flex Candle Lighter than lighting up my favorite Chesapeake Bay Candle – the Balance + harmony from the Mind & Body collection. This Chesapeake Bay Candle brings the fruity scent of tropical fruits, especially peach and pear. It also gives off the floral scent of roses, violets and water lilies.

Whenever I lit up this candle, our home suddenly smells like summer which undoubtedly is a refreshing change from the gloomy ambiance during the cold season. The smell lasts long, and the candle came in a classy coffee table jar that suits the décor of our home.

Zoganic Vitamin Supplement

Zoganic

Up next is Zoganic a vitamin supplement drink that can boost the immune system, regulate blood sugar levels, promote gut health and facilitate metabolism. With these benefits, you can solve common winter health problems like unwanted weight gain. Plus the fact that during the holiday season we tend to overeat, consume fatty foods as well as dessert – it is absolutely vital now more than ever to keep our gut health in check. This product is definitely the answer.

As far as consumption goes, I drank this supplement with water, and it tasted great! Personally, I think kids will surely love it. If you or the kiddos prefer a creamier, thicker refreshment, I highly recommend adding this to a smoothie blend or chia bowl.

Tea Forte -The Warming Joy Petite Presentation Box

Tea Forte

We all know that when it gets cold, we all resort to enjoying a relaxing warm beverage. Some prefer a regular cup of joe, a few enjoy their hot cocoa, while the rest loves a delicious blend of tea – sometimes, even all of the above. In our household, our go-to is the Tea Forte by Warming Joy Collection which is comprised of 10 pyramid infusers of their special winter teas. Just picture Derek and I bonding over brews during cold winter nights! My personal favorite is the Winter Chai Tea which delivers delightful comforting spice with a hint of sweetly fragrant vanilla.

The site currently offers a 20% discount on any Tea Forte orders. Just use the code WJ20 upon check out. You should hurry though because this promo is only valid until 12/31/2017!

Stuffy Nose Strips

Stuffy Nose Strips

When the weather gets cold a lot of us suffer from severe colds, sniffles, and even stuffy nose. This is where the Stuffy Nose Strips rescues the day. It offers nasal congestion relief by pulling the airways open for more than 61%. With this, you can bid congestion goodbye even if its caused by the weather or allergies. Aside from me, I know Derek can benefit from this too because having stuffy nose is just bothersome.

This product is available on Amazon, and you can avail a 25% discount when you use the code XECX9243 before checking out.

Links by Lisa Becker

Links by Lisa Becker

The last thing that I would recommend to make the winter season more bearable is Links by Lisa Becker. This is a romance novel about two high school sweethearts who had a chance encounter 15 years after. I love reading romance novels, and while I cannot say that I can relate to the characters of the movie, I love the thought of second chances. Even though the season is cold, I know this story will melt hearts!

This romantic novel is available in paperback or kindle style book.

So that’s it, guys! These are my essentials for a comfortable, entertaining and healthy winter season! Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know if you have any questions.

Please be very careful when considering using candles, especially with a little one in the house. Fires that have started with candles have trebled in past two years in the UK. Fake candles and maybe another blanket may be what you need…
