Altar’d is a new original series from Z Living. It’s all about the changes people make before their big day – their wedding! I’m excited to see this show, because my wedding was a wonderful time for me, full of changes and expectations. It was both magical and a bit stressful, so a show like Altar’d that highlights couples taking on healthy changes before their big day is really appealing to me.
I remember those months leading up to my wedding. I have my king now, and he has his queen, but during those months before the wedding, we were less like royalty in love and more like a couple trying to survive a flower-decked obstacle course. I had so much fun picking out flowers, place settings, and the like, but my husband, bless his heart, was a classic guy. “Whatever you think,” was the predominate phrase from him!
As we went on, though, he became more interested in all the wedding stuff; as the day got closer, I became less interested. I began to stress about the gown and making sure all the right people were invited. I wanted it to be perfect for everyone, not just me. So needless to say, a lot of changes happened to both of us over those months. That’s why I’m so excited about Altar’d, Z Living’s Newest show.
Altar’d – Z Living’s Newest Uplifting Program
Altar’d premieres January 17th at 8pm on Z Living, and it’s all about the transformations that people go through before their big day. For some people that transformation is losing weight, for others it’s all about shedding the emotional baggage from past relationships and for many it’s all about adopting habits that will set them up for a successful future relationship. And in the end, it’s about the journey of two people who are about to become one, and how they work to better themselves before they say, “I do.”
Couples are separated and undergo inspiring 90 day transformations with the big reveal at the altar, sharing their self-transformations to inspire all of us to be our best selves. Along the way, hosts, Chris Marhefka and Erin Stutland offer tips on how simple changes to diet, exercise, and self-care can lead to big changes in our own lives.
And this is no fake-out reality show. The hosts know their stuff. Chris Marhefka is the founder of B3 Gym in Gainsville, Florida and co-founder of Eat the 80, a healthy meal delivery service in Florida. He’s worked with over 2,000 clients and has over 10 years of experience as a personal trainer, CrossFit instructor, and nutrition lifestyle coach.
Erin Stutland is the creator of several fitness programs that reach thousands of people around the world, including her signature Shrink Session workout and Soul Strolls.
Z Living – Dedicated to a Happier Healthier You
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Z Living would be unveiling a show like this on their network. Z Living is the leading health entertainment TV network, and they’re dedicated to telling compelling stories both on-air and online. These stories focus on helping us live happier, healthier lives on our own terms.
I’m so excited about Altar’d. I think it’s so cool that there’s a show coming that focuses on those challenges and changes rather than just how crazy brides get before the big day. I can’t wait to check out the new transformations each week! Make sure to check it out, too!

January 18, 2017This sounds like a show that I would be interested in watching. I remember when we were planning our wedding. We had a simple wedding for the most part. I didn’t have a ton of flowers because I don’t believe in spending a ton of money on something that is going to dye. I used fake flowers where I could. I did get a pretty white rose to honor my mom who couldn’t be there that day. She had Alzheimers and wouldn’t have had a clue what was going on.
