When it comes to family vacations, Disney can’t be beat. While there are Disney cruises, many families still opt for the park experience. If your family plans on going this route, there are some things you’ll want to bring along. Let’s take a closer look at things you need for an amazing Disney park adventure.
Sunscreen and Other Health Items
Sunscreen is a must when visiting Disney parks. Whether you’re in California or Florida, you’re going to need a good sunscreen. You’ll also want to make sure you bring along any other medication your family may need, such as motion sickness pills, allergy pills, etc. Don’t forget to also pack a bottle of aloe vera gel should someone get a sunburn.
Digital Camera with Extra Batteries and SD Cards
You’ll obviously want to capture all the great moments of your vacation. That’s why you’ll want to bring along a digital camera plus extra batteries and SD cards. It’s a big disappointment when you want to record your kids on Splash Mountain and your battery is dead.
Rain Gear
If you plan to visit Disney World, you’ll definitely want to have rain gear handy. It can rain daily in Orlando and a storm can brew up out of nowhere. Ponchos are your best bet because they can be slipped on and you don’t have to worry about carrying an umbrella.
Comfortable Shoes
Did you know that Disney World in Orlando covers over 27,000 acres? With multiple parks, you’re going to be doing a lot of walking. With that said, you’ll want to have the most comfortable shoes you can find. The last thing you want is to wear a pair of cute shoes that start rubbing your feet 20 minutes after you arrive.
Discount Disney Gift Cards
Did you know that you can shop for discount gift cards? These may be gift cards people got as gifts and don’t want sold through eBay or you may just find a great deal. Some grocery stores often sell gift cards at a discount of 5 to 20% off. This is a great way to cut your cost in gift shops and restaurants.
Light Backpack
A light backpack can make your trip much more enjoyable. You’ll be able to carry your sunscreen, camera, accessories, ponchos, and anything else you may need without having to juggle it all. Just make sure your straps are secure and you may even want to put a lock on the compartment with the pricier items inside.
Cell Phone Chargers and Power Banks
The last thing you want is to get to your hotel room and realize you forgot all your chargers at home. You also don’t want to be in the park and have your battery go dead. Pack plenty of chargers for your room and plenty of power banks to carry with you.
Inexpensive Disney Goodies
Last, but not least, if you have little ones, hit up your local Dollar Tree before your trip. You can find so many Disney items to make your trip even more special. Socks, stickers, notepads, crayons, coloring books – there are so many Disney items, and everything is only $1 each. Talk about saving some serious cash.
An amazing Disney park adventure starts with packing everything you’ll need. The last thing you want to do is arrive at the park and have to shell out big bucks for something small, like sunscreen. Disney has shops that will have everything you need, but you’ll pay for that convenience.

July 4, 2018It’s a smart idea to buy Disney goodies at a dollar store! I’ve also heard that you can get super cheap souvenirs outside the park down in Orlando. Like, stores sell sweatshirts and what not at half the price. I’d rather do that, then get one or two unique souvenirs inside the park.
