You Deserve To Feel Beautiful

Everyone has moments where they feel less than pretty. All women (and men, to be inclusive) deserve to feel beautiful! It’s not easy to feel beautiful in a world where we are constantly told we’re not good enough. The media, social media, billboards, songs – you name it and we’re told we’re not enough as we are. Of course, it’s to make us buy into the beauty industry to earn more money, but that doesn’t mean that you have to buy into it!

You deserve to feel beautiful no matter what you do. Whether you use whole body laser hair removal, dying your hair or getting your body altered permanently with surgery (the average price of a rhinoplasty is coming down all the time), you are a reach away from feeling beautiful. Where possible, you need to do all you can to embrace your own unique beauty for what it is. You should be able to look at yourself in the mirror and smile, knowing that you are the best version of you simply by being who you are. So, with this in mind, what can you do to feel more beautiful?

  • Sit tall. Actually, stand tall, too! Your brain needs to feel like you are feeling good to release those happy hormones. If you are sitting tall and standing tall with your shoulders back and chin up, you’re going to be able to feel good about yourself really quickly. There is a lot of psychology out there that tells us that the way we sit up straight makes a difference to how we feel about ourselves. When you sit tall, you sit confidently.
  • Observe. Beauty comes from the inside and if you are observing yourself in the mirror, you can see all of the beautiful things about yourself. It’s hard to think about it when you’re imagining yourself, but you should think about those scars of yours and instead of hating them, think about how they give your face character. Observations over judgements every single time.
  • Admire yourself. Is this easy? Absolutely not! But if you think of something about yourself that you admire, you’re going to be able to look in the mirror and feel good about yourself every single time. This also helps you feel your best, so if you do decide to follow improvements, such as undergoing a thorough skincare regimen, trying a new look, or even visiting a plastic surgeon for a minor procedure, you’ll have done so for the right reasons.
  • Smile. We don’t mean that in a patronizing way, apologies. What we mean is that putting on a happy face can trick your brain into feeling happy and confident. It pushes a button for a feel good effect in your body, and this is going to give you a mood boost straight away. If you feel that you need to work on your smile first, you might consider visiting an orthodontist to have any necessary work done, and you might want to think about how you are going to look after your teeth at home generally too.
  • Take a deep breath. Sometimes, you keep tension in your face, but if you take a breath and relax, you can relax the muscles and feel at ease. Take a photo of yourself relaxed and without the tension around your jaw. You can help yourself when you learn to relax and breathe – trust us on that one.
  • Pamper yourself! To feel beautiful, you want to know you look at it. Moisturize your skin, put on some makeup that makes you feel good and then go and conquer the world.
