It’s the Season of Giving – Give the Gift of Love

With less than a week until Thanksgiving, I can’t help but feel the spirit of gratefulness and gratitude. This year had been a whirlwind and a blast at the same time. Earlier this year hubby deployed to Kuwait. It was the toughest challenge for us. After all the sleepless night and tiring days, he finally came home last August. Now we have “36” days left before Christmas! We keep things simple and celebrate it with our families. It may not be traditional, but we always ask each other what we want to make sure we don’t end up with a flawed gift.

Honestly, I can’t think of any. That’s what I told my husband. I don’t have a need for an item that isn’t functional. So when he pressed for a gift idea, I simply said “perfumes” would make a great gift. He was quite surprised. That’s because he doesn’t wear any perfume or cologne. I explained how perfumes make a big difference (for the majority of us who does). My personal favorite is Katy Perry’s Mad Love Fragrance – everything about it is lovely! Just look at that bottle, the packaging and branding alone are exceptional!

Books » Living in a digital world means we’re always using our gadgets such as laptop and cell phone. Having a book to read is quite refreshing and a great reason to disconnect from the web.

Depending on the recipient, you can choose the topic or theme that will suit them best. For example, my husband is into sports and poker which means I will have to choose a book from those categories. As for me, I am a beauty enthusiast. Making Charlotte Cho’s book “The Little Book of Skin Care” a great choice. Need something more personal? Look into collector types such as Harry Potter’s complete series.

Perfumes » While my husband is not into fragrances, the majority of the population loves a great perfume. In fact, as I was growing up I remember sneaking a spritz or two from my Mama’s stash. There’s something about perfumes that completes me. The way I see it, perfumes brings a person’s ensemble/overall look together.

Choosing the right scent plays a big factor – if you are gifting one to a guy, opting for a masculine with a hint of fresh scent might be the best way to go. If gifting one to a woman, the product packaging also makes a difference. Check out Katy Perry’s “Mad Love” fragrance – available at Walgreens!

Mug » We all have a good use for mugs. Whether it is for coffee, tea, hot chocolate or even soups! I love starting my day with a cup of coffee, and a beautiful mug is the best way to go. Nowadays, the good old plain mug just won’t do. Often that not, I’m torn between cute and chic designs.

For the ladies, gold polka dots and floral prints are the latest in trend. As for guys, a monogrammed mug or a gold trim on the handle is the best choice. Need a unisex one? Check out mugs with quotes or sayings! My personal favorite is this mint mug from Ankit that says “I’m not Bossy, I’m the Boss!”.

Choosing books and mugs aren’t as quite tedious compared to choosing the right perfume. So I am sharing a few pointers why Katy Perry’s perfume made it to my must-have list and gift guide suggestion.

As I have mentioned earlier, the packaging and scent play a big factor. Katy Perry got it right with her perfume collection. She has 3 pillars which are Purr, Killer Queen, and Mad Potion. The Mad Love Fragrance is an extension of the latter.

When it comes down to the scent, it has this sexy fruity fragrance that is both lightweight and sultry. It also has a hint of freshness that captivates your senses with just a quick whiff.
