As we welcomed our little one into this world, our hearts and mind were instantly filled with love, happiness, and excitement. On that note, we also started talking about what the future holds for him, for all of us, as well as our upcoming short and long-term plans. As a millennial military wife, there’s no such thing as winging it. We have to prepare when we can. Or at least that’s how I learned to handle things from being married to my husband.
Here’s the thing, we just finished preparing our home. Everything is how I pictured his nursery and play area to be. Yet, it’s not exactly perfect given that we have quite a flight of stairs to get to the second floor. While it may not sound that much of a big deal, you can imagine how unappealing this is for someone who just gave birth with stitches to nurse and heal. There’s a lot of things we would change if we could redo purchasing a town home. Which is also why when we move to Vegas in about 2-3 years, we’re going to opt for a single home.
Thinking ahead would also mean securing a better life, sense of security, and financial stability. After all, we also have to set an excellent example for the next generation.

November 30, 2017Oh I feel you on the stairs. We have so many stairs to go into our apartment. Not only did we have to rethink gates when the baby came along but it’s a pain bringing groceries and a baby in a seat up and down. The nursery looks amazing.

December 1, 2017The trials and tribulations of being a military wife. My Mum was one and we moved two a new country every 2 years. I loved it as a child because it gave me a priceless education. I hope you enjoy moving also. You’ll be a black belt packer that’s for sure. 🙂

December 1, 2017Your baby is adorable and I love how you decorated the nursery. It’s really nice to decorate our home but it’s also important to prepare for the future and follow a budget when we can. If there’s anything I learned from starting a family, it’s to always be prepared when we can.

December 3, 2017I would love to be a home owner but unfortunately it is so hard for millennials to be able to raise the money the banks are asking for a deposit, in order to grant a mortgage. You have designed a really beautiful nursery!

December 4, 2017I would love to own my own home one day, I’m not sure if it is everything something I will manage to do but I at least know I am fairly secure in my rental unless we do something silly, which is a plus, so no moving every few years.
