About two years back, my husband went to Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida for schooling. Shortly before he finished his classes, I visited and totally had a blast. While the tour was quite short, it left me wanting to see more of Florida. We agreed that the base sightings is beautiful, what if we visited another county? Last year we were set on traveling, but he had to deploy to Kuwait. This year, now that he is back home again we’re set for a Florida Travel this summer.
We’ve done our research and looked for a place to relax as well as unwind while having some fun. That’s where Ocala/Marion County comes in the picture. With all honesty, we wanted something different, and it is the perfect destination to be.
Ocala/Marion County is conveniently located in Central Florida. It has lots of family-friendly activities and attractions that kids and adults will surely enjoy. This hot spot is widely known as the Horse Capital of the World™. It has massive equestrian farms where some of the most famous (Kentucky Derby and Triple Crown winners) and beautiful horses were born. You can even travel with one of your horses and stay at one of their relaxing equestrian resorts.
Ocala/Marion County Activities is not just about the horses, though. It also offers lots of enjoyable activities that every family member will find interesting and exciting. There are family owned and run farms where you or your kids can pick all kinds of fruits and veggies. Visitors and locals who are feeling adventurous can try the exciting 4-hour tube ride down the Rainbow River while enjoying the look of nature around. You can also enjoy the natural beauty of Silver Springs, Florida’s natural landmark since the 1870s. Silver Springs is famous for their glass-bottom boats and different species of animals freely roaming around in their natural habitat. You can also try their zip lines, go snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, fish hunting, hike through nature and even soak at one of their natural springs to cool off. Remember, these are just a few of the many outdoor activities that you can do and enjoy at Ocala/Marion County, and there are tons more!
On top of it all, Ocala/Marion County Lodging offer lots of options that will surely suit everyone’s budget. So if you and your family got too tired and exhausted with the full day activity, you can relax at one of their hotels, cabins, bed and breakfasts, and affordable vacation rentals. There are also numerous restaurants around. From locally owned restos up to the usual chains, you and your family will surely have a dining experience that you’ll love.
Ocala/Marion County is such an amazing paradise to visit. It’s the perfect place to be if you wanted to have a quality weekend getaway with your family.

March 7, 2017It sounds so funny to me to hear people talking about Ocala from a tourist perspective. I was born and raised here and I absolutely love it. There is a lot to do, and a lot of larger cities extremely close by. It is a great place to raise kids as well.
