Three Simple Ways of Brightening Your Home

There is nothing more dangerous to a family than a dark house. Besides risking your family’s life, darkness affects your home’s mood making it dull and sad. Moreover, it increases your family’s vulnerability to dangerous diseases such as anxiety, depression, and other ailments.

Given a chance, every family would enjoy the warmth of the morning sun from the comfort of their sitting room, but factors such as dark furniture in the room, curtains, blinds and wrongly placed windows make this impossible.

If this is your current situation and you are worried sick about your loved one’s health, read on to identify how you can brighten your home in three simple ways.

Make Use of Artificial Lighting
Not all homes can receive ambient amounts of natural lighting due to factors such as the placement of the windows. In such a case, you should supplement the little natural light you receive with illumination.

Artificial lighting is the perfect alternative to brightening the dark rooms in your house. It helps beautify and enlarge your rooms. Today there are many lighting fixtures on the market for your consideration. To get the most out of your home, choose lighting that intermarries with your interiors, creating a warm and happy mode.

House to Home

Ambience lighting, such as the magnificent Murano glass chandeliers, is a perfect way of tackling dullness in your home. These types of lighting are naturally beautiful and come in different shapes, forms and sizes that fit well in any interior design. To get the most out of them, ensure to place them strategically at various places in your rooms.

Mirrors Will Help
Mirrors work magic in multiplying the little sunlight getting into a room. For best results, ensure to use more enormous mirrors and place them strategically within your house. The best idea is to have them next to or opposite a window, door or lamp. Here they will get to capture the tiniest light and bounce it throughout the room.

House to Home

Besides brightening a home, mirrors come in handy in enlarging small places. When placed correctly, they help create the illusion of a spacious and expansive room. What’s more, you can use mirrors to attract or distract attention from a particular space in your room. Again the secret is on how you place your mirrors; if you, for example, want to highlight a specific art in the room, you can do this by positioning the mirror against it.

Bring In the Outdoors
There is nothing as therapeutic as having plants in a room. Their colours help beautify the room, making it brighter and calm. Moreover, they creatively fill the empty spaces on shelves helping them look outstanding.

Indoor plants also purify your home’s air and enhance productivity. Plants in a room also help fight stress and anxiety. There exist different types of indoor plants that are easy to acquire and look after. The only consideration when getting one is to check on the amount of sunlight available in the room where you intend to place it.

Consider opting for tolerant indoor plants that will thrive in such conditions for rooms that don’t receive enough sunlight. Also, ensure to choose the right plant depending on the mood you intend it to communicate in the different rooms. Dark-coloured plants will, for example, do well in the bedroom, while bright coloured plants will serve you best in the sitting room.

Parting Shot
Everybody deserves a bright home to help unwind after a day in the cruel world. Enhance brightness in your home by implementing the above three strategies.

I find additional lighting with bras and table lamps very cozy so serves extra purpose. Mirrors are handy as well (but I try not to use often, I tend get glued to the mirror at least for a minute when I pass by)
