Day 2 – (July 11, 2013) got up early for the Zoom Reinvented event … beat my alarm [again] and up and about at 5 in the morning. Got breakfast and prepared for a big day. Got dolled up, and made sure I have everything that I need … including my business cards and a dose of my much needed coffee.
Zoom Reinvented Event Venue
Pier 92 – 10am, taken over by bloggers, youtubers, press, etc. I started taking pictures for my blog. Then socialized, offline and online. If you were following me on twitter you’d seen me share some live tweets straight from the event. I didn’t get to blog on the spot as I didn’t bring my laptop with me. Hopefully, Nokia will invite me on their future events and you will see me share a live blog post as well straight from the venue. Nonetheless, it gave me more time to prepare for everything that I have to share.
My ensemble of the day is made of neon pink shades, dress and booties with leopard print on the side. I’ve decided to wear an Aztec print sweater in black and white to add contrast to my bright outfit.
As seen on the photo above are the innovative phones by Nokia from 2002 – present. Their first patent was dated all the way back to 1990 and own 450 patents to date. Nokia had taken us all in quite a journey. To date, Nokia has done it again … take all of us by surprise. Last year (2012) Nokia released their first 41 megapixel Camera the Pureview 808, while this year they have launched the Lumia series that took mobile low light photography to the next level. Now, Nokia took it up a notch and changed the game again: From Nokia 808 PureView to Nokia Lumia 1020 – Zoom Reinvented.
The Lumia 1020 will be launched first in the USA with AT&T as of July 26, 2013. Pre-order starts July 16th for $299.99 with a 2 year agreement. This quarter it will then follow in European, Latin American and China. Avalable in 3 colors; yellow, white and black.
The phone’s structure is very similar to the previous Lumia models. The photo above is a side by side comparison between the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 920. Except this time it is a lot sleeker and flatter. The camera area packs a little bulk but not too thick (10.4 mm). In fact, I didn’t expect the Lumia 1020 to be as light as it is (158.0 g) knowing it is packed with a main camera sensor of 41 MP, PureView and a Xenon flash. { read the full specification here }
The beautiful framed picture behind me is a blown up image taken using the Lumia 1020. There are no pixelations and the quality is absolutely beautiful and stunning. The image is an absolute beauty and could literally fool me to have been taken by a professional photographer using an SLR. Now that I have said that – I can literally give up bringing my SLR with me if I have this phone. I badly want to have one. Having the Lumia 1020 would mean so much to me, and would take my blogging and vlogging to the next level. I won’t need to suffer having back ache and shoulder pain from carrying all my gear.
@koreandoll you’ve won the headphones -head to the reframe area..look for the girls with yellow headphones. -Jason

Aside from winning the headphones … things turned up and just got better. I would have never imagined to have had the opportunity to converse and chit chat with Chris Weber – Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Nokia. Chris is truly amazing and his accomplishments in life are so admirable. Not only that, he is very personable and easy to communicate with. I couldn’t help myself to ask if I could have a photo with him … and he didn’t hesitate to say YES. I am truly overjoyed and literally almost leaped off the ground. Here’s the snap …
Fab time at #ZoomParty, our @Nokia_Connects bloggers spent 2 hrs chatting to the ‘awesome’ @cweberatnokia! #Lumia1020 http://t.co/aGEOdqXdsH

At one point Chris went on to communicate and chit chat with the other bloggers … I somehow found my “cat ears” headband on my bag and when Chris saw it, he thought it was cute and took a picture of me. Awwee … I blushed and hoped for the best that I don’t look so tired or haggard and break the camera’s lens. LOL. Excuse the dorky face below …
I am never camera shy, but I have never imagined having Chris Weber take my picture. The above photo is taken with the Lumia 1020 under low light inside Pier 92.The Zoom Reinvented event was a complete success. Hopefully it isn’t my first and last. Stay tuned for my next updates. xo

July 16, 201341 MP? Just OMG. It’s like you have an SLR (or even better) that is so handy! Haha. Now that’s Nokia’s Zoom is ‘reinvented’, I am reconsidering Lumia too. Haha. I haven’t been attracted to Lumia, but seeing this pictures make me think again. I mean, the structure is quite competitive. I am not sure about its OS though ’cause I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll be willing to try it, if I ever got the chance.
And yey, congrats for winning! It would really be better if it’s a Lumia, but hey, that’s already headphones, y’know. Hehe. So right, better than nothing. 🙂

July 23, 2013Hi sis! I’ve been reading your posts! And as usual I love them! Congrats again for the chance to join the Nokia event! I’ve been keeping up with you on your tweets and instagram photos. I love Nokia phone, but since I haven’t used a Nokia phone in a long time, a lot has changed drastically. The 1020 seems so nice! And the pictures it take are so good! And 41 MP? Mind blown. I got the Sony xperia (which in an android) half a year ago for its 13 MP camera, but I was so disappointed as the photo results were so pixelated, that’s why I changed back to iPhone. I’ll be sure to check out the 1020 when it comes out in AT&T stores.
And! I love your outfit! 😀 I miss you!

August 4, 2013This seemed to be a great event! I love Nokia – even though I currently have an iPhone. I have great memories from high school with my Nokia phones. Guess what? I’m seriously thinking of switching to Nokia next year. Your posts really are convincing me to.
Also, I love the outfit you wore!
